Parenthood and Raising Children
Parenthood and Raising Children: An Adventure Full of Love and Growth
How nice that you're reading along again! With my blogs, I aim to support parents in parenting and raising their children. Parenthood is wonderful. You are allowed to enjoy it — even when it's sometimes challenging. It's important not to see challenges as problems, but as a natural part of the journey. Enjoy reading!
What is parenthood, really?
Parenthood is more than just caring for a child — it is a deep, natural bond that begins at birth. A feeling of connection that resides in your heart. You want to protect your child, see them happy, and provide the best you can.
But parenthood is not always easy. There are moments when it is difficult to feel that unconditional love. For example, when there are worries about money, housing, or if you yourself had a challenging childhood. Feelings like sadness, stress, or anger can also make parenting difficult at times. And that's okay — you are not alone.
Your own upbringing naturally also has a strong influence on how you parent. A great book in which you can recognize how your own traits and learned values and norms have an impact is:

What Makes You a Good Parent
A good parent ensures that a child feels safe and loved, and receives everything they need to grow up. Think of basic needs such as food, sleep, and play — but also warmth, structure, boundaries, and attention.
Parenting is an ongoing process in which you guide your child toward independence. You teach them how to interact with others, recognize and express emotions, solve problems, and make choices. But also how to make mistakes — and learn from them.
Parenting: Love, Boundaries, and Trust
Parenting is like an adventure full of learning moments — for both the child and the parent. You provide guidance, set boundaries, offer comfort, listen, and encourage. You are a role model for your child. Not by being perfect, but by being authentic.
A loving and safe environment is the foundation. Rules, routines, and structure help your child feel secure. At the same time, it is important to give space for initiative, so your child learns to think independently and make choices.
This valuable book shows you how to approach this in a light and practical way.

Dare to Ask for Help
Do you find it difficult at times? Be honest with yourself. Asking for help is not a weakness, but rather an act of strength and love for your child. No one has all the answers. Together, we can look at what works best for you and your family.
My Own Experience as a Parent
As a mother, I have learned a lot — sometimes through trial and error. What I thought I knew about parenting didn't always work in practice. Every child is different, and what works for one may not work for another.
The most important lesson I learned? That I could be myself — open, honest, and confident. This gave my children the space to be themselves as well.
Of course, I made mistakes — just like every parent. The hardest part was admitting those mistakes. But you know what? Those moments of honesty actually strengthened our bond. My children felt seen and heard, which gave us both confidence.
Guiding Parents is Also Learning
In my work as a parenting coach, I have spoken with many parents. Often, I felt most how important it was for them to be heard — without judgment. I provided tools, offered guidance, asked questions, and provided structure. But above all: I showed respect for who they are. And from every parent I guided, I also learned something myself.
Finally
This was my blog. Thank you for reading. Continue to take good care of yourself, be yourself, and give your child the same space. Perfect parenting doesn't exist — but loving, involved, and authentic parenting does. Until next time!
